It has been a few weeks, but on Sunday 2 July Renske attended this year’s YAltival in Eindhoven. Like previous years, this was once again a great edition, with many lovely guests in attendance, goodiebags, and lots of national and international authors.
Renske gave a workshop ‘From Dream to Debut’, which was fully booked, where we learned how to pitch our books to agents, publishers, and potential readers. It was impressive to see the large amount of talent in the workshop and everyone’s great pitches. There will be many amazing Young Adult books waiting to be read in the coming years, that’s for sure!
After the workshop, Renske was also part of an interview together with fellow authors Lauren Dedroog and Solomonica de Winter, where they answered all kinds of questions from the audience, such as ‘who of your characters would win the Hunger Games and who would definitely die?’ and ‘do you prefer to plot your story in advance or do you just write as it comes?’.
All in all, it was great to see some old friends and meet new people – all of them YA enthusiasts! Looking back on a superbly organized event, we would like to extend many thanks to Bookstore Van Piere in Eindhoven, Dynamo, and everyone else involved with the organization!
